Restricted Party Screening
Collaborations Require Additional Reviews
When registering your Cornell international travel in the registry, you must enter collaborations with foreign organizations, institutions, companies, or individuals. If known, please provide names and addresses of individuals, institutions, and entities.
These collaborations may require Restricted Party Screening (RPS), a compliance process that ensures adherence to international trade regulations.
- What Requires Reporting: Planned research projects or collaborative agreements with foreign institutions or foreign nationals (including data sharing or discussion of unpublished or proprietary data.)
- What Does Not Require Reporting: Casual professional networking and general conference attendance with disclosure of published data.
This screening protects both you and Cornell from inadvertently engaging with restricted parties.
If you're unsure whether your interactions qualify as a foreign collaboration, please get in touch with Export Controls. For the Ithaca campus and Cornell Tech: exportcontrols@cornell.edu, and Weill Cornell Medicine: exportcontrols@med.cornell.edu
