Kalaniyot is a faculty-led initiative established in the aftermath of October 7, 2023, by academics who recognized a renewed responsibility to preserve universities as inclusive and welcoming environments for students and scholars of all backgrounds.
The initiative joins a growing network of efforts aimed at reaffirming higher education’s mission to advance knowledge through the free exchange of ideas. Kalaniyot focuses on rebuilding and sustaining international academic collaboration, particularly between Israeli and U.S.-based academic communities.
With a research focus on agriculture and food science innovation, Kalaniyot at Cornell advances Cornell’s public-service mission to enhance the lives and livelihoods of people in New York and around the world.
