And these Cornell connections are just the beginning: our Hubs partners join a vibrant network of transnational research and learning opportunities, collaborating with other Hubs universities and Cornell.

Cultivating Worldwide Relationships
Hubs Network Meetings
Global Hubs hold annual research network meetings in Ithaca and at Hubs locations worldwide. These in-person meetings bring us together for topical and planning workshops, panel discussions, themed affinity group meetings, and work on joint research projects. Our collaborations continue virtually and with partner visits throughout the year.
Hubs Affinity Groups
Global Hubs foster collaboration through affinity groups that connect faculty and professionals across the Hubs network. Weill Cornell Medicine organized the first affinity group focused on medical schools, and since then the groups have expanded:
- Medical schools
- Women's health
- Sustainable tourism
- Research security
- Engaged learning
- Student mobility
Affinity groups meet regularly, both virtually and in person—most recently at the November 2024 Global Hubs network meeting, cohosted by King’s College London. The groups deepen multilateral collaboration among Global Hubs partners and amplify the impact of our shared initiatives.

Cornell leaders traveled across China and Asia in early November to connect with alumni, deepen partnerships, celebrate academic milestones, and engage in discussions on a wide range of global challenges. The multistop trip included the sixth annual Cornell-China Forum in Shanghai.

Up to 20 early-stage research projects will receive funding from this year’s Global Hubs Research Seed Grants, connecting Cornell faculty with researchers at Global Hubs partner universities. Applications are due Oct. 15.

Nine PhD students from Imperial College London were placed at Cornell this summer—seven on the Cornell Ithaca campus and two at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City. They partnered with Cornell professors and researchers as part of the Imperial Global Fellows Fund.
Queen Mary University of London and Cornell University have co-delivered the first joint Global Migration Spring School, held from 4 to 9 May at the Queen Mary Malta Campus in Gozo.

Global Cornell welcomed almost 100 representatives from 18 international Global Hubs partner institutions to London for the second network meeting, co-hosted by King's College London. Participants came together to exchange ideas and pave the way for collaborations and engagement to build a better world.
