Şebnem Özkan
Global Hubs director Şebnem Özkan joined Global Cornell in January 2022 with an academic background in international and area studies and more than two decades of professional experience at federally funded European and global studies centers.
She served as the inaugural associate director of the Atlanta Global Studies Center, a consortium of Georgia Tech and Georgia State University (2019–22). Previously she held positions at the European Union Center at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and the European Studies Alliance at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
Özkan holds Ph.D. and M.S. degrees from University of Wisconsin in international and comparative industrial relations and a B.A. in labor economics and industrial relations from the Faculty of Political Science, Ankara University (Mülkiye).
Faculty Advisors
Global Hubs faculty leads serve as ambassadors and liaisons to faculty and administration in Cornell colleges and schools. They develop and maintain relationships with partner institutions in their regions, participate in and host partner visits, facilitate faculty connections and collaborations, and oversee joint seed fund awards.
