Cornell Postdoctoral Fellowship Programs (typically 1-3 years): Postdocs have received a doctoral degree and are pursuing additional research, training, or teaching in order to have better skills to pursue a career in academia, research, or any other field. Postdocs work closely with a faculty mentor for a temporary and defined period of time. Cornell University maintains an informational website with resources for postdocs.

Multiple endowed fellowship programs support paid postdoc fellowships at Cornell. At Cornell, postdocs who are self-funded (grants from NIH, NSF, governmental grants, etc.) are appointed as postdoctoral fellows. Postdoctoral fellows are not paid by the university and are thus not considered Cornell employees.

(Postdoctoral associate opportunities are also available at Cornell, listed separately. Postdoctoral associates are classified as Cornell University employees and receive employee benefits. Search for postdoc associate positions on Cornell's careers website using the search keyword “postdoc”.)
